Some of my super passionate clients go all the way and wrap sugar-lime cotton balls on the palm, wrap them with sock, paper towel, medical bandage and keep the hand and Henna stain moist and warm. In next hours the stain will get darker gradually. The gradual progression of color proves the Henna paste is natural like my Henna recipe. For best results set up your Henna session 2 -3 days in advance of your special occasion.
Once Henna paste is dry and its time to remove it, gently scrap off the Henna from your skin. When if doubt, pick up your phone and contact me , Chat with me or leave me a message.
I will get back to you as soon as I can. How long will my henna last? If you are not patient, the design will smear. Use a tablespoon of lemon juice freshly squeezed or in bottles and two teaspoons of powdered sugar. Microwave the Sugar Lemon SealantIt is very important to mix the lemon and sugar so that the sugar is fully dissolved. The heating time should not excede 15 seconds.
You need to make sure the paste is dry and not soft to the touch, especially in the areas where a thicker layer was applied. Once the design is dry, apply the sealant using a cotton pad used to remove makeup and make sure you remove any excess solution as that would damage the design or it sill stain the pattern.
Dab the cotton onto the drawing. Once you apply the sugar solution and it is dry, boil about 40 cloves in water and place your hand above the pan so that the steam surrounds the design for about a minute, leave it to cool for a minute and steam it again. Heat about 40 cloves and hold your hand above the pan. It is a fact that the longer you leave the paste on, the darker the pattern becomes. You must leave the pattern on for at least 12 hours.
Make sure you throw the paste directly in the garbage to avoid staining your carpets, floors, table, etc. To protect the mehndi design, you want to wrap your hands and feet in a tissue. The challenge with plastic is that your skin will not perspire so the sweat will damage the pattern. As such, make sure you use a tissue. If you can ask your henna artist to apply the paste the second time, the result will be darker.
Still, there is a downside to this. The henna design has to be simpler so that the artist can replicate it on your hands and feet.
After you wait for hours you are ready now to remove henna. There will be parts where you cannot remove the paste, especially in complex patterns and thin lines. Please avoid using water and soap as that will inhibit the oxidation process. In most cities the tap water contains chlorine which bleaches the skin and design. Chlorine dissipates through boiling. If you have a fair skin, please avoid getting a tan as you want to preserve the contrast between your skin and the design.
Henna applied on the top of the hands, it gives a dark brownish shade and henna applied near the knuckles, on the palms and fingers will stain a darker color than the top of the hand. The best place to wear a henna tattoo is on the hands palms and lower hand. Warmth of body also contributes to darker the henna color on skin.
Some people are more warm then the other so they get the bright color on their skin. Henna leaves light shade on upper arms, ankles and lowers back.

The reason behind improving color is air oxidize the henna color and cause to dark it. Henna in dark and bright color always looks gorgeous. The dark color of skin also depends on the type of skin and application timing. Apart of these reasons there are some secret as well to get nice colored stain. Once dry, the longer it stays on skin the better color you will get. Do not put water as it may reverse the effect. Now, when your mehendi has dried off, just take a cotton ball and soak the mixture in it and dab lightly on the mehendi ; make sure you are not rubbing the cotton ball on your hand as it may scrape off the dried up mehendi.
This mixture helps the mehendi to stick for a longer period, giving it a darker colour. Do not over use this mixture as excess usage of acid may make it discolored. Once you remove the mehendi , take a small-sized sauce pan and heat at least pieces of cloves until they start to release fumes. Now, place your hand over the pan; be careful so it may not hurt your hand. Place your hands for a few seconds and let the your hands be exposed to the fumes and then remove them.
Repeat this process at least four times in order to get a good colour. The heat of the cloves is believed to give you a darker colour or if you have clove oil, you can use that too. Take a small-sized sauce pan and heat at least pieces of cloves.
