She's indicated to be a medical genius with the power to stop Wolverine's regenerative powers from working, but never displays this kind of knowledge again after her introductory scene, and doesn't think to use it to somehow neutralize Wolverine when she has him captive at the movie's climax.
Her death scene is pretty anticlimactic; the two "fake-out" death scenes she gets earlier in the climax were actually better by comparison. Redeeming Qualities Her outfit's at least quite faithful to the one her comic counterpart wears, even if it's a little on the cheap side.

Wolverine escapes with Yashida's grandaughter Mariko. That night she reunites with Black Clan ninja Harada who is forced to chase Wolverine and Mariko after Viper uses her powers on him. It was, but poor Harada had a hard time living this one down. You would too if you got your ass handed to you by Garrett Morris. With his appearance in New Mutants by Chris Claremont and Sal Buscema this creative pairing was determined to make this character work, I guess. The Silver Samurai became a frequent foe and reluctant ally to Marvel mutants, particularly Wolverine.
Harada started out as a hired thug, a one dimensional character with a cool look but no real motivations. This all changed with the death of his father, Shingen Yashida. The organization was currently being run by Mariko Yashida, the true love of Wolverine, and thus began a conflict that would define the character of Silver Samurai forever more.
