Where is my meetup inbox

That wouldn't be the worst thing ever, but if they just wiped all the old messages without giving us a chance to go through and archive, that is hugely awful. SonoranCyclist -- yes, the icon is different, which implies to me that this isn't just a glitch.

BBG -- they've had the Archive for a while. But it looks like it might be subject to the same small capacity limitation as the Inbox. I hope I am wrong about this. Autodeletion of messages, especially with an archive with only a small capacity, would totally suck. Though Meetup's message system is awkward at best -- you can't put things in folders; to get to earlier messages, you just have to keep loading them rather than being able to indicate a range -- as an individual and as an organizer, I need to be able to access all my messages unless I have decided to delete one.

That way I can check my earlier interactions with a person, can see what I told them on behalf of the group, etc. I could understand some sort of capacity limitation, but these are tiny files -- just text, no graphics, etc. And as you say, if they've deleted our messages without informing us in advance, that is inexcusable. On a related note, it is really frustrating that you have to look through your whole message list to find an interaction with a member: if you just try to send them a message, it won't link that up with your previous messages until after you've sent it.

MeetupMan Guest. Until any of us hear direct from Meetup please post anything they tell you here , my guess is that they have now decided we only need ONE month's worth of messages! To heck with all the rest! When they previously, in their infinite wisdom, decided to set up their own proprietary message system and coopt all our meetup member messages away from our own ISPs, where they usually are stored for years, someone up at the top forgot or just didn't have any clue just how much server storage space that would require!

And now, some financial analyst may have told them they can't afford all that extra server space for years and years of millions of possibly important emails between members. Or possibly that searching through million emails takes too long for the systems.

Again, we have reduced service and options from Meetup, and ought to reduce what we pay them for much less service year after year Steve the Org who wouldn't shut up.

I just got a message back from Meetup support. The guy who responded thinks it's a glitch, says he's filed it with their tech team, and promises it will be fixed ASAP. I hope he's right. Here's the message I sent to Meetup: Quote. Mus Member Posts: I have only been able to access the latest message for a few days now. They're messing around with the code again - a bad sign, no doubt. Anne Posts: No, just jumble all kinds of important and trivial messages together with no way to prioritize or manage them, and then panic when the total load inevitably and predictably exceeds storage and processing capacity.

How's that expression go: It's like cutting off your arm because you need to lose a few pounds. I'm so tired of having my 'user experience' managed by people who have neither clue nor care what my actual user experience is. The experience I want is with my group, not the bleeding ever-changing software. I've paid for a product, just build the damn thing and let me use it for its intended purpose - and let me worry about managing my group. Quote from: Anne on September 06, , PM.

Giantaxe Member Posts: Also, archiving displayed "conversations" series of messages with one person , loads more conversations to the bottom of the list of I simply cannot "load more" under the 50th person displayed - the "load more" prompt is no longer displayed. Also, I noticed that when reviewing past conversations right field , I can only scroll up a dozen or so entries -- no further messages load.

For a few people, this is only messages from the last week or so. In other words, only the most recent 50 conversations show, and only about a dozen past messages for each conversation show.

I just received a message from one of my assistant organizers that he's seeing the same thing. This started yesterday about the same time the icon for messaging on the main page of any group changed from an oval caption to a rectangular one. I reloaded a page and saw the icon change. I'm seeing these issues in Firefox , and also in Chrome. This is found below a round menu with three horizontal lines.
